Starting in 2022, Jurnal Gantang will be published in May and November twice a year. Jurnal Gantang publishes scientific writings on the results of thoughts, very carefully selected literature studies, and research in the field of Mathematics Education. Jurnal Gantang is a journal with a blind review system that is an essential aspect of disseminating knowledge. Abstract

Metode pembelajaran dengan media kartu telah banyak digunakan sebagai salah satu metode yang cukup efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan belajar siswa. Dua diantaranya adalah metode Giving Question and Getting Answer (GQGA) dan metode Question Student Have (QSH). Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat efektifitas metode pembelajaran GQGA dan QSH dalam meningkatkan kemampuan pemahaman matematis siswa. Populasi dari penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII SMPN 4 Tarogong Kidul Kabupaten Garut dengan sampel berjumlah 62 siswa. Metode yang digunakan adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan desain the statistic group pretest-posttest. Hasil uji statistik menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman matematis siswa setelah diberikan metode GQGA dan QSH, yaitu peningkatan kemampuan matematis siswa yang diberikan metode GQGA lebih baik daripada siswa yang diberikan metode QSH. Uji efek size juga dilakukan untuk mengukur efektifitas dari pembelajaran yang diberikan dan hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa efektifitas berada pada kategori sedang. Ini berarti pemanfaatan media kartu dalam pembelajaran cukup efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan pemahaman matematis siswa. Kata kunci: Pemahaman Matematis, metode GQGA, metode QSH

Abstract

Technological developments in the 21st century has been very rapid, forcing teachers to become more creative in terms of creating innovative learning media, interesting, and not left behind. By using visual media the teacher can provide certain visuals to the students in the learning process, which will be expected to help the students in thinking at C3 level. The background of the study is the low ability of students in working on the application of operations in the set in everyday life as well as visualize the operation of the set, based on a survey of researchers through interviews with teachers of SMP Negeri 11 Tanjungpinang. In this study the researcher uses multimedia-based visual media by the use of swish max4 software, to help students think up to level C3 or in the realm of applying especially on the material of the operation of the set and also can visualize the operation set in everyday life. Experiments were conducted in class VII.1 and class VII.2 at SMP Negeri 11 Tanjungpinang, obtaining posttest result of experiment class higher 76,24 compared to control class 66,92, It was proved that class given swish max4 media treatment can help students in Thinking up to C3 level or applying. Abstract

The purpose of this study was to develop a practical Student Worksheet on mathematics learning within statistics material. The research method was research and development by using ADDIE namely the analysis stage, planning satge, development stage, and implementation and evaluation stages. This study was limited to the implementation stage which was conducted to look at the practicality of Student Worksheet tested on a limited basis. Based on the test results, practicality of Student Worksheet through three assessment data: the first observation data with an average 71% in a good category, the second data questionnaire responses of teachers with an average 75% in a good category, and the third data questionnaire responses of students with an average 84% in a good category. Abstract

Abstract Seeing the condition of the students now, can be seen various characteristics of learners are very diverse. There are active and passive students. There are independent and dependent students who depend on others. In this study researchers will examine the independence of students learning MTSN 5 Jombang, where taken a sample of students who learning independence low, medium and high of the questionnaire given along with consultation with the teacher. After the sample was taken the researchers conducted interviews and requested transcripts of student grades for one semester. The results obtained, students who have high independence have little obstacles in learning and able to solve itself. While students who independence low learning difficult to resolve the learning obstacles. The level of learning independence also affects the results of the value obtained. Students who have high learning independence score above the average of their classmates. Similarly, students who have low learning independence earn a grade below the average of their classmates. Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui peran desain pembelajaran logaritma dalam pengenalan konsep logaritma dan mengetahui hasil belajar siswa dalam pembelajaran logaritma melalui Lembar Aktivitas Siswa (LAS) berbasis pendekatan pembelajaran Pendidikan Matematika Realistik (PMR). Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian design research, yang dilaksanakan di salah satu Sekolah Menengah Atas di Yogyakarta. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah instrumen tes tertulis, video, dan catatan lapangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pada pertemuan ke-1 dan ke-2 siswa beradaptasi dengan desain pembelajaran yang diterapkan. Pada pertemuan selanjutnya, siswa dapat mengikuti kegiatan pembelajaran dengan lebih baik. Selain itu, hasil belajar siswa menunjukkan bahwa nilai rata-rata yang diperoleh siswa adalah 77,5 dengan frekuensi ketuntasan 65,6%.

Abstract

Pada kajian ini, dikembangkan sebuah estimator atau penduga untuk rataan geometrik pada desain sampel himpunan terurut. Sampel himpunan terurut adalah sekolompok unit sampel yang diambil dari populasi dimana anggota populasinya diurutkan sebelumnya berdasarkan variabel tertentu yang memiliki korelasi yang kuat dengan populasi yang dibicarakan sebelum pengukuran yang nyata terhadap anggota populasi yang dibicarakan dimana hal ini akan mengurangi biaya dan waktu perhitungan. Kajian dilakukan untuk menginvestigasi bias dan efisiensi relatif dari penduga rataan geometrik yang dikembangkan dan perbandingan efisiensi relatif dilakukan untuk data dari populasi yang berdistribusi normal. Hasil kajian menunjukkan penduga pada sampel himpunan terurut mengungguli penduga pada sampel acak sederhana.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa dengan menggunakan alat peraga Pilogma pada materi nilai kebenaran pernyataan majemuk Logika Matematika. Penelitian ini merupakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK). Penelitian jenis kualitatif ini dilaksanakan dalam 2 siklus dan setiap siklus diadakan 2 kali pertemuan. Peneliti menggunakan teknik observasi, dokumentasi, wawancara, dan tes untuk memperoleh data. Teknik analisis data dengan melalui tahap reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan dan verifikasi serta triangulasi data. Subjek penelitiannya ialah kelas X SMA Muhammadiyah Tanjungpinang. Objek penelitian yaitu meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa yang dilihat melalui hasil tes setiap akhir siklus I dan II serta hasil observasi, dokumentasi dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa dapat ditingkatkan melalui penggunaan alat peraga Pilogma dalam pembelajaran materi Logika Matematika. Abstract

Studi terdahulu menunjukkan bahwa peran aljabar pada pembelajaran saat ini terfokus pada banyak perspektif sehingga pembelajaran aljabar tradisional membutuhkan pembaharuan yang fundamental dan juga perubahan cara berpikir. Pembelajaran aljabar saat ini harus dapat difokuskan kepada penguasaan dan pengaplikasian aljabar di berbagai konteks dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Studi dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk mendapatkan gambaran tentang adanya transisi kemampuan berpikir dari aritmatika ke aljabar. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa indikator transisi kemampuan berpikir aritmatika ke kemampuan berpikir aljabar sudah dapat tercapai dengan baik, hanya saja siswa masih melakukan kekeliruan pada saat mengerjakan operasi bilangan negatif karena siswa sulit membedakan antara tanda bilangan dan juga tanda operasi yang terlibat dalam operasi tersebut. Hal ini harusnya dapat diantisipasi mengingat hal tersebut sangat diperlukan dalam pemahaman aljabar tingkat lanjut Kata kunci: kemampuan berpikir aritmatika, kemampuan berpikir aljabar

Abstract

Learning methods with cards media have been widely used as one of the methods that are quite effective on enhancing students' learning ability. Two of them are Giving Question and Getting Answer (GQGA) and Question Student Have (QSH) methods. The aim of this research is to analyze the effectiveness of GQGA and QSH learning methods in improving students' mathematical understanding. The population of this research are 8th grade students of State Junior High School Garut district and the sample are 62 students. This research used a quasi-experimental with pretest-posttest control group design. The result shows that there is a difference enhancement of students 'mathematical understanding ability after being given GQGA and QSH methods, which means that the enhancement of mathematical understanding ability of students who get GQGA method better than the students who get QSH method. The size effect of two methods is in the medium category. This means that the use of card media in learning is quite effective on enhancing students' mathematical understanding.
